Palace planted 'negative' stories about Meghan Markle to protect royals: lawyer - Page Six

A bombshell new trailer for Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” alleges that the royal family planted “negative” stories about Meghan Markle.

Attorney Jenny Afia, who has represented the Duchess of Sussex, claimed there was a “war against Meghan” involving the palace and the British media.

“There was a real, kind of war against Meghan, and I’ve certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other people’s agendas,” Afia alleges at the beginning of the trailer, which was released on Wednesday.

The “Suits” alum’s pal Lucy Fraser also chimed in, claiming, “Meg became this scapegoat for the palace. And so they would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not, to avoid other, less favorable stories being printed.”

Markle said she saw the alleged attack against her “play out.”

“A story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute and they’d go, ‘We gotta make that go away,'” she continued.

“But there’s real estate on a website homepage. There is real estate there on a newspaper front cover. And something has to be filled in there about something royal.”

The final three episodes of the couple’s docuseries will air Thursday, centered on their exit from the royal family in 2020, dubbed “Megxit.”

The first half of the hotly anticipated show dropped last week, and focused on how their love story began.

Harry and Markle — who share kids Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1 — revealed their highly publicized courtship actually began on Instagram.

“I was scrolling through my feed, and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them, like a Snapchat,” the younger son of King Charles lll recalled.

After coming across an image of the California native with a dog filter on her face, the royal said he wanted to know more about the woman behind the Snapchat filter.

“I was like, ‘Who is that?‘” he said.

A friend then told Markle that “Prince Haz” was interested in meeting her, to which she replied, “Who’s that?”
