Harry Styles made waves in more ways than one with the announcement of his new album, “Harry’s House,” out May 20.
The “Golden” singer, 28, announced his forthcoming music on Wednesday with a photoshoot in an upside-down home, with the star sporting a Molly Goddard outfit complete with lace-up ballet flats.
Styles wore Goddard’s shirred “Iwona” blouse ($766), wide-leg “Jorg” jeans ($634) and white “Albie” pumps ($501), all from the British designer’s spring 2022 collection.
“EXCUSE ME MR. STYLES ARE THOSE BALLET FLATS ?!?!” one fan tweeted upon seeing the album cover.
“Harry is the only person allowed to wear ballet flats sorry i refuse to let these come back,” another said.
Indeed, ballet-inspired shoes are having their turn in the spotlight, thanks to designers including Miu Miu and famous fans like Angelina Jolie, while poofy tulle skirts and body stockings are also back in fashion.
Even Styles himself has been flirting with the idea, donning a frilly gown on the cover of Vogue in November 2020, sporting a series of boas at the 2021 Grammys and launching a pastel-heavy nail polish line, Pleasing.
After wearing Dorothy-inspired ruby slippers for “Harryween,” it seems Styles is putting his pumps away in favor of something more danceable.
