St. Vincent Details New Album Daddy’s Home, Shares Video for New Song: Watch
After the news surfaced on street posters, St. Vincent has officially announced her new album Daddy’s Home and shared its first single, “Pay Your Way in Pain.” The album is out May 14 via Loma Vista. Check out the “Pay Your Way in Pain” video, along with the album’s artwork and tracklist below.
According to a press release, St. Vincent began writing some Daddy’s Home songs in winter 2019, which is around the time that her father was released from prison after being incarcerated for nine years. In a new interview with Laura Snapes for The Guardian, it’s revealed that the album’s title track was inspired by St. Vincent taking her father home from prison.
Annie Clark produced her new album with Jack Antonoff. In addition to Clark and Antonoff, the record features performances from Cian Riordan, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhard, Lynne Fiddmont, and Kenya Hathaway.
The last St. Vincent studio album was 2017’s MASSEDUCTION. Clark subsequently shared multiple versions of the album, including a 2018 stripped down acoustic version (MassEducation) and a 2019 remix version titled Nina Kraviz Presents Masseduction Rewired.
