The 22-year-old woman dubbed “Soho Karen” over her confrontation with a black teenager at a Manhattan hotel was “downright belligerent” when cops in California busted her for DUI, according to a new report.
Miya Ponsetto allegedly admitted to police in Los Angeles in May that she had taken Xanax and drunk wine before she was pulled over for driving erratically, TMZ reported Monday.
According to the newly released details of the arrest, Ponsetto refused a field sobriety test, then got testy with cops when they tried to handcuff her.
She threw a tantrum, according to TMZ, which reported that Ponsetto began “kicking the ground, thrashing her body, and even knocking her head on the pavement.”
She was charged with driving under the influence and later pleaded no contest in the case, agreeing to three hours of probation, 30 hours of community service, and to attend a nine-month alcohol and drug counseling program, the outlet said.
Ponsetto and her mom were also charged with public intoxication and battery after sparking a melee at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills on Feb. 28, according to a police report of the incident.
But it wasn’t until Dec. 26 that Ponsetto’s name went viral after she falsely accused a black teenager of stealing her iPhone at a Soho hotel.
Keyon Harrold Jr., 14, was with his father, a jazz trumpeter by the same name, at the Alro Hotel when Ponsetto is seen on viral video accosting the teen.
The incident has prompted calls for Manhattan prosecutors to charge Ponsetto, who is lying low in California.
