Now you can watch Paramount Plus and Showtime in a single app - The Verge
You can now access the content packed into Paramount Plus and Showtime from a single app. First bundled as a subscription last September, Paramount and Showtime’s catalogs have been separated between two apps for viewers in the US, but viewers can now access the full roster of TV shows and films from the Paramount Plus app.
For new subscribers, the Paramount Plus and Showtime bundle is available at a discounted rate until October 2nd, at $7.99 per month for the Essential plan (which includes ad breaks) with Showtime and $12.99 per month for the Premium plan with Showtime that adds more sports, live broadcasts of your local CBS station, and downloads for offline viewing on mobile, and mostly removes ads, except on live TV and certain shows. After October 2nd, the regular pricing resumes with the combined Essential tier at $11.99 per month and the Premium plan for $14.99 monthly.
Paramount Plus as a standalone service will continue to be available on two subscription tiers without Showtime: the ad-supported Essential plan ($4.99 per month) and the ad-free Premium tier ($9.99 per month).
“This singular user experience streamlines sign-up and enhances discovery, and this lower price will allow more households to enjoy with exceptional entertainment offering,” Paramount Global Streaming president Tom Ryan said in a press release announcing the new service.
In case you haven’t been streaming Star Trek and Halo TV shows for the past few years, here’s the rundown on what these apps are. Paramount Plus is the rebranded version of CBS All Access. Its parent company, ViacomCBS, rebranded to Paramount earlier this year to further focus its attention on streaming. In May, Paramount Plus reported that its subscriber count grew to almost 40 million during its first quarter, and in June, Paramount Plus said it planned “to commission” 150 international original series, adding more to its current roster.
In mid-August, the streaming service partnered with Walmart to bundle its service with Walmart Plus, and it has been included in other packages like this one with T-Mobile’s wireless service. These bundles don’t cost quite as much as cable once did, but pulling the offerings closer together is similar to Disney’s approach with the combination of Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus, while HBO Max will be absorbed into a new combo app with Discovery Plus in 2023. Netflix, meanwhile, is going it alone but has plans to roll out an ad-supported streaming package, and has started to offer games as an added feature for your subscription fee.

Leonardo DiCaprio trolled over breakup with 25-year-old Camila Morrone - Page Six
He looks like a total Morrone.
The internet was set ablaze when news broke Tuesday that Leonardo DiCaprio and his much-younger girlfriend, Camila Morrone, reportedly split after four years of dating.
Twitter users immediately trolled 47-year-old DiCaprio — who is said to only date women under 25 — over his inevitable breakup from the model, who just turned 25 in June.
“maybe leonardo dicaprio hated 9/11 so much that he can’t even date women who remember it. did that even occur to you,” one Twitter user savagely joked.
“maybe leonardo dicaprio feels bad for all the women who can’t rent a car until they are 25 and is actually a really good guy. did that ever occur to you,” a second suggested.
“Leonardo Dicaprio when his girlfriends reach 25 years of age,” another Twitter user captioned a clip of a woman throwing a baby into a fire.
“The girl Leonardo DiCaprio will dump when he’s 72 was born today,” a fourth jabbed.
“there’s no phenomenon on this planet more reliable than leonardo dicaprio breaking up with his girl by age 25, the stats are breathtaking,” someone else wrote.
“Leonardo DiCaprio once his girlfriend’s brain finishes development,” another troll posted alongside a clip of Miley Cyrus blowing a kiss goodbye in “Hannah Montana.”
“3 things are certain in life: – death – taxes – leonardo dicaprio breaking up with his girlfriend before her pre-frontal cortex has fully developed,” one more person agreed.
“the thought of leonardo dicaprio possibly dating someone born in the 2000s is actually terrifying,” another netizen shared.
“in two years, when Variety announces that Leonardo DiCaprio and Olivia Rodrigo have started dating, it’s gonna be a f–king rough day,” one jokester tweeted, referring to the 19-year-old singer.
“i need to know how leonardo dicaprio conducts these breakups. does he start picking fights months before they turn 25 to be less conspicuous? do they wake up on their birthday to a note that says ‘sorry i can’t don’t hate me’ someone pls investigate,” someone else begged, referencing the note Carrie Bradshaw received from Burger in a “Sex and the City” episode.
“white smoke has emerged from the chimney atop north hollywood high school, signaling that leonardo dicaprio has chosen a new girlfriend,” one more wrote, making a comparison to how the Vatican signals a new pope being elected.
“titanic turns 25 this year at which point i assume leonardo dicaprio will no longer want to be in it,” another quipped.
“Have you ever considered that Leonardo Dicaprio is so proud of his work in the Titanic, he only dates women who weren’t old enough to have seen it when it premiered so HE can share the special moment of watching it with them for the first time? did that even occur to you,” someone else razzed.
People reported Tuesday that the Oscar winner had split from the “Daisy Jones & The Six” star.
The news came after the duo were spotted having a tense conversation in May as DiCaprio comforted Morrone a the beach in Malibu.
The actor further fueled speculation he and the actress were dunzo after he was seen galavanting around Europe solo this summer.
DiCaprio and Morrone began dating in 2017 when she was just 20 years old. They made their awards show debut at the 2020 Oscars.
Morrone has defended their 23-year age difference in the past, telling the Los Angeles Times in 2019, “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”
Other A-list women DiCaprio has dated who were 25 years or younger at the time of their relationships include Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, Bar Refaeli, Nina Agdal and Gisele BĂŒndchen, the latter of whom he dated for six years until 2005.
Apparently, age matters after all.

Country singer Luke Bell found dead at age 32 - Yahoo Entertainment
Singer-songwriter Luke Bell has died at the age of 32. The country artist was first reported missing in Arizona on August 20.
Bell's close friend, musician Matt Kinman, confirmed the news to Saving Country Music. Kinman was with Bell when he went missing. The singer was discovered on Monday "not far from where he disappeared, and in a manner we all feared he would be when we first heard the news," the blog notes.
Kinman told the outlet that Bell severely struggled with bipolar disorder. After virtually disappearing from the public eye years ago, Bell's mental health seemed to improve due to medication and treatment. "But while out West recently, Luke's mental state took a turn for the worse. While in Tucson with Matt Kinman, he ran off while Matt went to get something to eat," the blog shares.
An official cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Bell, a Wyoming native, caused a stir in the country music scene in 2014 with his debut album Don't Mind if I Do. He signed a record deal with Thirty Tigers in 2016. Later that year, he dropped his self-titled album which received critical acclaim. While promoting the record, he talked about tuning out the noise on his seemingly inevitable rise to stardom.
"To be honest, I live in the day, and I count smiles," Bell told The Boot in a 2016 interview. "That's it. Listen, half the time, I end up drinking beer with my neighbors. Life's not that bad. The downside, in some ways, is I don't have a wife and kids, but at the same time, it's pretty ideal right now. I just travel around to other cities and hang out with other people... The goal is to have high hopes and low expectations and have a good time."
Despite praise for his work, Bell's career became stagnant as mental health issues emerged. A tour was planned, but it never went off. He performed infrequently and resurfaced in 2018 when he won Best Honky Tonk Male at the Ameripolitan Awards in Memphis, Tennessee.
"Luke Bell's struggles are now over, but the legacy of his music remains. And hopefully, like so many troubled troubadours before him, Luke Bell is just beginning to find its audience, his worthy appreciation, and his deserved legacy," writes Saving Country Music.

‘The Goldbergs’ To Kill Off Jeff Garlin’s Original Character – Report - Deadline
ABC’s The Goldbergs will be minus a patriarch when it returns for Season 10 on Sept. 21: Jeff Garlin’s Murray Goldberg character has been killed off.
The news, reported by EW, follows the exit last season of Garlin from the cast. The actor had been accused of inappropriate behavior and was the subject of HR investigations.
In a new interview, showrunner Alex Barnow tells EW that the Murray character will have been dead for several months when the new season’s plotlines begin. “This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that,”he said. “We’re starting with optimism about [Erica’s] baby coming and looking forward to the future. It’s an opportunity for this interesting emotional basis for the way people are behaving.”

Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery will return to the MCU with Wonder Man - The A.V. Club
Ben Kingsley’s… villain(?) from the historically underrated Iron Man 3 stands as a good illustration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s power and how it extends beyond the traditional comic book fan audience. Not only was he introduced as an explicit rejection of an old (and problematic) comic book villain, but Kingsley completely wackadoo performance and the twist behind his real identity—he’s an actor hired to play a fake terrorist—made enough of an impression on fans that the MCU was willing to ignore the “but that’s not what happens in the comics!” complaints and bring Kingsley back for Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.
Now, with that movie already serving as a surprise setup for the main plot of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, it’s apparently also going to set up Kingsley’s continued involvement in the MCU. According to Variety, he’ll be reprising his role as fake terrorist/disgraced theatrical actor Trevor Slattery in Disney+’s upcoming Wonder Man series. The show was co-created by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton, and assuming it has any connection to the Wonder Man from the comics (which is not a safe assumption, as noted above), it will be about a guy named Simon Williams who gets super powers from an evil experiment and later becomes an Avenger and also an actor.
If that’s what Disney is going with here, Trevor Slattery is a perfect addition: He’s an actor, he met Iron Man and Shang-Chi, and he’s… you know, a wackadoo. It’s fun to have him around, as Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings proved.
It may seem like a disservice to the success of Shang-Chi for Marvel and Disney to just keep using that movie as a platform to reintroduce older side-characters like Trevor Slattery here and Abomination on She-Hulk, but let’s not forget that—in addition to working on Wonder Man—Cretton is making a Shang-Chi sequel and he’s attached to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Marvel clearly wants to stay in the Destin Daniel Cretton business for a while.

Mariah Carey calls out 'diva' Meghan Markle: 'Don't act like' you aren't - Page Six
It takes one to know one.
Meghan Markle — and her “Archetypes” podcast listeners — “started to sweat” after Mariah Carey accused the Duchess of Sussex of “diva moments” in Tuesday’s episode.
When Markle, 41, told her guest that she does not personally “connect to” the “diva … persona,” Carey, 53, interrupted.
“You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan,” the singer said. “Don’t act like [you don’t].”
The “Suits” alum appeared flustered, asking, “What kind of diva moments did I give you?”
Carey then clarified that she meant Markle’s “visual[s]” and not her personality, saying she “didn’t mean” anything by the comment and was “playing” with the former actress.
Markle expressed her relief after the interview ended.
“She must have felt my nervous laughter, and … she jumped right in to make sure I was crystal clear that when she said diva, she was talking about the way I dress, the posture, the clothing,” she explained.
“She meant diva as a compliment, but I heard it as a dig,” the duchess continued. “That moment, as she explained to me, she meant it as chic, as inspirational.”
Before Carey set the record straight, Markle admittedly was “squirming in [her] chair in [a] quiet revolt” against the accusation.
“[The conversation] was all going swimmingly, really well, until that moment happened,” she recalled. “It stopped me in my tracks. … My mind was just genuinely spinning on what nonsense she might have read or clicked on to make her say that.”
Markle explained, “I just kept thinking in that moment: Is my girl crush coming to a quick demise? Does she actually not see me?”
Earlier in the episode, the “Bench” author told Carey how important the Grammy winner’s career was to her while growing up biracial.
“You were so formative for me,” gushed Markle, who launched her podcast earlier this month with guest Serena Williams.
“Representation matters so much,” she added. “When you came onto the scene, [I was like], ‘Oh, my gosh, someone looks like me.'”

Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez is undergoing a “very complicated” surgery after suffering an accident, his wife Alessandra Rosaldo announced on Monday night.
Rosaldo wrote on Instagram that Derbez is currently “fine” but his injuries are “delicate.” The surgery will not compromise his health, but “the recovery process will be long and difficult since he will have to rest for several weeks and then undergo rehabilitation therapies,” Rosaldo wrote. She did not provide any details about Derbez’s accident.
Variety has reached out to Derbez’s reps for more information.

He began to break out in the U.S. in the 2010s and has starred in American projects like last year’s Oscar best picture winner “CODA,” “Dora and the Lost City of Gold,” “How to Be a Latin Lover” and the Apple TV+ series “Acapulco.”
Read Rosaldo’s full note below, translated from Spanish to English.
“To our family, friends, and media: Through this medium, I want to inform you that a couple of days ago Eugenio had an accident.
“He is fine, however the injuries he suffered are delicate and in the next few hours, he will have to undergo surgery. The operation is very complicated, but it does not compromise his health.
“The recovery process will be long and difficult since he will have to rest for several weeks and then undergo rehabilitation therapies.
“For us, it is very important to communicate to you all through our own voice the family situation that we are going through since we know how much love you all have for us. At this time, the priority is to focus on this process so that Eugenio can move forward, taking the time necessary to do so.
“I have some work commitments to fulfill that I cannot cancel, but I ask you all with much love, that whatever you want to know about this topic, allow me to communicate it through my social networks. Eugenio will be recovering and maybe for a while he will be away from his social networks and the media.
“Thank you for always being close to us. I know that with the good energy that you all will be sending us and with the favor of God, Eugenio will recover very soon.”

Amber Heard's Sister Whitney Calls MTV 'Disgusting' and 'Desperate' for Including Johnny Depp in VMAs - Yahoo Entertainment
Amber Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez is slamming MTV for featuring Johnny Depp in the 2022 Video Music Awards just under three months after the verdict in the Virginia defamation trial.
During the Sunday night live broadcast, Depp, 59, appeared as the awards show's Moon Person in a pre-recorded bit with his face digitally superimposed into the helmet of the floating figure. He told the audience at one point, "And you know what? I needed the work," while hovering inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
In a joint post between his Instagram account and MTV's official page, a clip of the moment was shared with the caption, "guess who? #VMAs." Depp's former lawyer Adam Waldman — the subject of Heard's three defamation countersuit claims, which she won one of and was awarded $2 million in damages — commented on the post with a celebratory raising-hands emoji.
Following the surprise inclusion of Depp in the show, Whitney, 34, reacted on her Instagram Story, sharing the message "I stand with Amber Heard" and a graphic that renamed the event the "DVMA's," a seeming reference to domestic violence.

"@MTV you're disgusting and clearly desperate! I really hope that none of the people that made this call have daughters...," she wrote.
Reps for Depp, Heard and the VMA's did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

On June 1, the jury in Fairfax County, Virginia, found that Heard, 36, defamed Depp in her 2018 op-ed about domestic violence and abuse, though she did not mention him by name in the article. He was awarded more than $10 million in damages. She is now appealing the verdict, and he is appealing her countersuit win.
That trial outcome came a year and a half after Depp lost a libel case in the U.K. over a newspaper referring to him as a "wife beater." The London judge upheld the outlet's claims as being "substantially true," and in March 2021, Depp's attempt to overturn that decision was overruled.

After the recent Virginia verdict, Depp said in a statement that the jury "gave me my life back" and the "best is yet to come" for him. Heard, meanwhile, called it a "setback" for women who speak out. Her sister, who testified on her behalf during the trial and was present in the courtroom when the verdict was read, also spoke out at the time.
"I still stand with you, sissy. Yesterday, today and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, for testifying both here in Virginia and in the UK, and for being the voice of so many who can't speak to the things that happen behind closed doors," wrote Henriquez.

"We knew that this was going to be an uphill battle and that the cards were stacked against us," she continued. "But you stood up and spoke out regardless. I am so honored to testify for you, and I would do it a million times over because I know what I saw and because the truth is forever on your side."
She concluded, "I'm so sorry that it wasn't reflected in the decision made by this jury, but I will never give up on you, and neither will anyone who stands with you. Forever by your side… #istandwithamberheard."
Depp is currently set to star as King Louis XV in the upcoming period drama Jeanne du Barry, and he will be directing a movie co-produced by Al Pacino. He recently released an album with Jeff Beck, whom he's been touring with overseas. Heard will appear in the superhero sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which had its release date delayed until December 2023.
