Prince Harry won’t be putting his phone on silent again anytime soon.
The Duke of Sussex, 36, slept through the call that his grandfather Prince Philip had died in April, TMZ reported on Friday.
A representative from the U.S. Embassy dialed Harry’s number just before 3 a.m. California time to tell him the news, but the call went unanswered, according to the outlet.
Finally, the Embassy rep contacted the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Dept. — Harry, Meghan Markle and their son, Archie, live in the exclusive Montecito community — and asked an officer to get the prince to call back.
The sheriff’s department complied and reportedly sent an officer to the royal couple’s $14.7 million estate to tell Harry to call the Embassy immediately.
Philip died at age 99 on April 9 at Windsor Castle in England, where it was 11 a.m. when the royal family tried to get in touch with Harry.
The Sussexes’ rep did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Harry ultimately traveled back home to the UK for his granddad’s funeral, but he recently revealed that he was “afraid” to make the trip in fear that it would trigger past traumas.
“I was worried about it, I was afraid about it,” he told the Associated Press while promoting his new mental health program on Apple TV+, “The Me You Can’t See.”
“Going through the motions and being able to lean on the toolbox, and lean on the learnings that I’ve grown from over the past, it definitely made it a lot easier, but the heart still pounds.”
Harry and Meghan, 39, moved their growing family stateside last year after resigning from their royal duties.
